As the playoffs begin, NFL fans grow more excited for the upcoming 2025 Super Bowl. Excitement and disappointment are already in the air, with only eight teams left in the playoffs. Haldane students shared their predictions and anticipation for the game to come through a survey and student interviews.
The biggest game in American sports, the Super Bowl crowns the National Football League’s champion and showcases some of the best football talents worldwide. While some fans are already mourning the end of their team’s seasons, others continue to support their team, full of hope as they play in the playoffs.

As of January 14, eight teams have already proven their worthiness in the playoffs; the four AFC teams to do so are the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, and Houston Texans, along with four NFC teams, the Detroit Lions, Philadelphia Eagles, LA Rams, Washington Commanders.
Most football fans, especially those living in New York, often don’t get to watch the team they support go all the way. While this may cause some disappointment, it doesn’t change the fact that the Super Bowl is still enjoyable. Many celebrate with a watch party with a lot of food, football gear, and energy. This event can be fun even for those who aren’t fans of the sport. Many enjoy the game for the halftime show, the commercials, or even just the food. “While I don’t pay attention to the game itself, I have a lot at my family’s watch party, and I enjoy the food,” Haldane senior Amelia Alayon said.
