The Haldane Outlook received 8 Gold Circle Awards in April from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association in recognition of student journalists’ work in The Outlook’s first volume, published during the 2024-2025 school year.

Senior and Photo Editor Nicolo Masella was awarded 3rd Place overall for Photography Portfolio of Work, a Single Spot News Photograph Certificate of Merit for “Haldane Homecoming Parade,” and a Single Feature Photograph Certificate of Merit for “Junior Lucky Bell Focuses on His Violin.”

Junior and Staff Illustrator Alexa Arcigal was awarded 3rd place for Computer Generated Art/ Illustration, “The Columbus Day Debate,” and a Cartoons Certificate of Merit for “Fall is Wonderful, Isn’t It?”

Graduate of the class of 2025 and former Editor-in-Chief Keira Shanahan was awarded a Certificate of Merit in the category of First Person Experience for “Inspired By Her Story.”

Graduate of the class of 2025 and former Sports Editor Caroline Sniffen was awarded 3rd place in Sports News for “Haldane Football Fumbles in Homecoming Game.”

Junior and current Editor-in-Chief Lincoln Wayland was awarded a News Writing Certificate of Merit for “Capital Project Proposes Big Changes.”

There were over 6000 entrants to the 2026 CSPA Gold Circle Awards competition submitted by publications produced by students at colleges, universities, and secondary schools throughout the United States.
