What’s your favorite hobby outside of school?
“I like to travel, and I like to hike… I’ve been to every state except Alaska and Hawaii, and I’ve been to Europe.”
When did you know you wanted to become a teacher?
“I knew I wanted to become a teacher in high school, and I think it’s because I’ve always liked social studies specifically.”

“When students have earned or gotten into schools that we never thought they’d get into. Finding out that some of them earned that and got to go on and do something so great was really exciting.”
What’s something you wish your students knew about you?
“I did my student teaching with Mrs. McGrath. And I was a collegiate springboard diver, which is an obscure thing to do… and I still hold all of the records I held in high school.”
What advice would you give to your students about growing up?
“I think that sometimes, instead of following your passions, you kind of have to follow things that you like doing and that you’re good at doing… Many young people follow things they’re passionate about, but sometimes, I feel like passions are for later life. Follow a path you can be good at and find success.”
