“It’s one test. Obviously someone who doesn’t study or doesn’t try will get a lower score than someone that does try in most cases; but it could be an off day for someone and they might not be in the head space to take the exam. It is upsetting that we can only compare numbers to bigger and smaller ones but not the meaning or reasoning that got you that number.”
“It shows a big part, specifically because you are dealing with college. It could also show a big milestone in life, showing that you have either had a big boost in intelligence, or there may be spots that you have to improve on more.
“These tests are written in a certain way so when a student takes a course on the SAT they teach that student how to take advantage of the test and how to answer the questions correctly. A lot of it is educational skills, but some skills are solely for the test. What does that achieve past the test? I think it’s kind of ridiculous, but that’s just another aspect of the college application process I guess.”
